About Us

South West Community Builds has been set up and is run by Paul Bearham from Chacewater, nr Truro, Cornwall.

Paul has been involved with new builds and renovation since he bought his first property at 19 years old. He has renovated several properties and has project managed both residential and commercial  community builds. He describes his hobby as environmental and sustainable design. He is a great believer in solutions rather than problems and reducing carbon footprints of community buildings is fundamental not only for the planet but for it’s long term financial future by reducing the ever increasing energy costs.

Paul is interested in various sports including bowling for Chacewater and water sports like kayaking. Paul is a big rugby fan as a season ticket holder for the Cornish Pirates. He is passionate about working with community volunteers as he is involved, as a volunteer himself, with organisations in the village he lives in. He is involved with Chacewater Projects where he organises the firework firing team as well as installing the outdoor Christmas decorations. Paul has been a member of Chacewater Parish Council and this has helped him to keep up to date with the latest planning legislation along with being a lead for the emerging Local Neighbourhood Development Plan.

Paul was in education for 16 years before leaving to concentrate on South West Community Builds full time.

Please feel free to contact us to discuss any aspects of your project and how South West Community Builds could help your community – we’d love to hear from you.
